Métal Style Bouvet is based on the South Shore in Longueuil. We are a small, family-owned company with over 40 years of experience in the decorative hardware industry, distributing products for the building and furniture trade. Basically, we sell really nice door knobs and handles. Our client base is made up of door and window manufacturers, hardware resellers (showrooms), architects and designers, and some walk-in customers. Our product lines are distributed throughout Canada and the United States. We offer our customers high-quality merchandise, and our personalized approach and technical support have cemented our excellent reputation. Career opportunity: Customer service/order taker/sales and tech support

What you will do during a typical day:

  • Answer inbound calls and emails from customers (product information, pricing, availability of products, technical support)
  • Take customer orders via phone, fax, and e-mail and enter them into our system
  • Find solutions and resolve various problems using tact and diplomacy
  • Provide technical information about our products by phone, email or in person in our showroom (technical training will be provided)
  • Follow-up on purchase orders and estimates
  • Provide in-person service to customers in our showroom
  • Order verification
  • Assist other members of the team in their tasks as the need arises (That’s what working in a small team is all about…)

And eventually:

  • Travel within Canada and USA (1 to 3 times a year) to visit our most important clients.

What you will need: 

  • Absolutely:

    • Have a high school diploma (or GED) or the equivalent experience in customer service/sales and representation
    • Be available for full-time work from Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 17:00
    • Be able to work fluently in French and English both written and verbal.
      • Getting by in French or English won’t be enough
    • Have manual abilities or at least the ability to learn and understand the technical aspects of hardware products. It’s the “how does it work” curiosity of our intro.
    • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and Windows environment (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
    • A legal status permitting you to travel to the United States and a valid driver’s licence
    • Some experience with social media and the web for a company (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc)
  • A plus:

    • Knowledge of another language commonly used in business
    • Experience in the hardware, locksmith, or woodworking industry even if it’s only as a hobby
    • Experience with the Acomba inventory and order system
    • Experience in web marketing campaigns

  • You can accept and assimilate constructive criticism or instructions
